Plan vacations around tour dates so I can go see him! .....
I'm only joking a little bit. My brother recently moved down to Florida so when my family said we were going to take a trip down to visit him I was thrilled to see that it matched up with Twiddle's show at Jack Rabbits in Jacksonville, Florida. Only a four hour drive - NO BIG DEAL - I've driven way farther for music before. And there's no such thing as too far to travel when you haven't seen your future husband in almost three weeks.
Florida is honestly pretty cool. I did some fun touristy stuff with my family while we were down in there... you can check out the gallery at the end of this post if you want! The vacation was kind of jam packed so I was glad that the day I was going to Jacksonville was absolute torrential downpours. Not too great for driving but at least I didn't feel like I was missing anything. The coolest part about this trip was that it came the day after the two year anniversary that Ryan and I started dating. Since we're basically never together on anniversaries or birthdays it makes me so happy when we can celebrate together. Despite the four hour drive, the day was just overall relaxing. We didn't do anything too crazy before the show and once show time came I was excited to hear Twiddle play (I know you might think I'd be sick of it but I'm really not!!!!). I happened to get a peak at the setlist too so I knew it was filled with songs Ryan wrote or plays a lot on so I kind of felt like it was a nice present :).
Surprisingly, even with being in the middle of Florida, the place was packed with familiar faces. Friends I've made through Twiddle at shows, on Facebook, and even from travels in other countries were there. That's another thing I love about this life we have - you will always find a friend in the crowd no matter where you are. Unfortunately though, the night came and went and it was time to say goodbye to everyone and to Ryan. It was back to streaming shows on the internet and counting down the days until tour ends.
xoxo. Alexandra
PS: As you read this post the end of my wait will be over! Heading down to College Street Music Hall in New Haven, Connecticut and State Theatre in Portland, Maine to finish out the tour and then we will have a few weeks of adventures before the next one!
